Welcome to Southern Bible College
Until now the Department oversees six universities (6) saturated in various regions in Tanzania. Those regions are Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Mbeya, Lindi, Arusha and Mwanza. All colleges offer various courses and each offer free computer training to every student, All colleges have a computer laboratory.

Vision of Mbeya Bible College is to have a highly educated staff with integrity, and capable of being used to benefit in a variety of services. Pastoring, evangelism, teaching, mission and Prophecy in the Church of the country and the body of Christ at large.Mission
Mbeya Bible College is there to equip servant leaders who will befilled the power of the Holy Spirit to reach the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. All activities in this college is designed to enable the student to grow spiritually, mentally, socially and ministry, as a way to fulfill the goal of a college statement. We hope that everyone who joined our college will fulfill the goal statement and that each student will learn the application and fight so he can accomplish the goals of this institution.About Us
The establishment of the Southern Bible School,
hurst the missionary reached Mbeya on 14th June 1952 from the head
offices of Assemblies of God, USA. Hurst came as the answer of
missionary UDD, who requested to be given the missionary from Assemblies
of God in America.
UDD AND Hurst with the Help of Rev. Moses Kameta
worked together to secure the land where the construction of
the college could take place. Twenty acres of land were purchased
of which UDD had requested from a local leader
by the name of Mwaliego wa Utengule. This area is located at Kalobe
in Itende district, about 2.5 kilometer from
the main road that goes to Tunduma. The foundation stone of
Assemblies of God church in Tanzania was laid by Rev Hurst.
He also established the Christian centers which he used to evangelize the word of God, the work which recorganized by any one. In 1952 he planted the Tent at Itende village which he made the school . in 1953 he started constructing the students hostel. Though he had already opened the college which were timber’s constructed, he used for classes. In 1954 after all the construction was done, the college was opened officially and Rev. Hurst was the first principal of the college. The teachers and lectures were missionaries and their wives. By then Rev. Hurst helped them by translating, since there were local language called “Nyakyusa”. The aim of the college was to prepare God’ shepherd for his glory to his people. Rev. Yohana Mpayo, Rev. Ramsy Mwambipile, Rev David Mwanyikule na Rev. Asajigwe Mwaisabila was among the first students who were registered at that college.
Apart from Hurst’s contribution in the faculty of education development he also did the following;-
1. He set out the better strategies of how to use the Tithe and other sacrificial.
2. He started the biblical devotions/studies for Pastors
3. He started the Sunday fellowships to the students
4. He also supervised the construction of five primary school which were,
Itende, Ndala, Igembe, Shiwinga, and Mbalizi. Then after he selected the following people, John Mwakokesya, Jason Kabunda, Agolile Mwangomo, Jotham Mwakajila and Saimoni Mwanjoka as teachers.
